I’m planning to open my own preschool hopefully in the next two years, but I would like it to be a private preschool. I don’t want to have to deal with DHR. It will not be a religious school, only private. How can I do this?

If you are starting your own school it will be “private”. “private school” simply means it is not funded with tax dollars. I’m not sure what DHR is, but I do know that you do not have to accept any child or children who’s tuition is paid through state reimbursement or assistance programs. you will have to answer to regulations and rules just like any business, school, or childcare. Even private schools and daycares have to be licensed and regulated.
