It is my first year teaching preschool. I have a Montessori 3-5 preschool classroom witha loft that drives me nuts. Right now I have it be a “quiet area” but the kids go up there and do everything but be quiet. They take all the books out. Hide under the table. Stack the bean bags on top of each other. One suggestion I got is turn it into a cultural area. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I have a 2 and a half year old and would like to be able to enroll her in preschool by this fall. Besides potty training, I would like to know what a child needs to be able to do to get into most preschools. She is very social and I think she would benefit from being around other children. I can’t afford day care, I’m a stay at home mom, and I know of some schools in my area that accept 3 yr olds but I can’t find any links to figure out what they need to do or even how to enroll.
My daughter is about to graduate preschool and I am looking for something unique to get her. I would like to get her a book on graduating preschool or starting kindergarten… any ideas?
I’ve heard about preschool programs for young children where the parents are instructed to stay the entire time and when the kids are a bit older (3 or so), they gradually leave so finally the kids are by themselves. Does anyone know where I can find a program like this? I live in the Northern VA area.
