My son started kindergarten this year in August. He has been coloring with me since he was two years old. But, obviously he was young, and I expected him not to color in the lines and scribble. Now that he is almost six years old, he still just scribbles and doesn’t stay in the lines. What is wrong with him? Why won’t he color in the lines? If you are a parent, have you ever heard of a child not coloring in the lines at this age?
I am thinking about being a kindergarten teacher, but want to know how much money they get every year.
She’s in her fifties and very motherly. I don’t know what to get her. Any ideas? I was thinking about getting her a gift card to a local restaurant but what amount is appropriate? Should it be enough to cover dinner for two or a single entree, or somewhere in between?
My 4 year old’s birthday is in November, but I honestly think he would be bored with starting preschool in September. He’s known his alphabet since he was 2, he can count to 40, knows all of his colors, shapes, sounds of letters, can color better than myself, etc. He can take the early entry exam in May, but I’m just wondering what type of knowledge this test requires so I can make sure he’s prepared. Thanks.
I’m only 18 and just graduated from school here in Wisconsin.
I really love kids and I work at a daycare.
So I know what it takes to take care of children.
So how long would it take to become a Kindergarten Teacher,
and what would it take?
Or if you would know where I could find out some information on this.
Thank You!!!
I noticed that I have a ton of floats and balls, a small plastic swimming pool, pails and soft plush sea animals so I decided to make my literacy center with a sea-life theme. Can someone list some more items to place in this center that make it inviting and calm?
My son is reading pretty well and could go to the next book level but not till his comprehension improves. His teacher says he is still doing great but this needs work. She has given me a list of questions to ask him after we read a book, which he doesn’t like very well, so Im trying to just get him to talk about the book. I want him to like learning. He loves to read and loves me to read to him. Any other suggestions to help with reading comprehension?
Thanks

I have 21 kindergarteners in my class. One has tantrums when he is corrected. I use visual cues to correct him so that the whole class is not disrupted when I need to correct his behavior but he runs way down the hall if he is corrected which means I have to either leave my class or run after him. I guess he thinks that I will stop correcting him if he yells at me and runs away but not so. Mom is very easygoing and is not really helpful. I am open to suggestions. He is an only child and most likely gets his way at home.
I am working on a slide show for the kindergarten graduation at my school. (I’m in grade ![]()
I have Pomp and Circumstance, but that’s only about 1 minute 30, and the slide show is 4 minutes (and .53 seconds)
Any ideas? I think it should be more upbeat. NO graduation song by vitamin C
