kindergarten readiness – get your child ready

For one hour a week I’m going to be going into an elementary school to work with a little girl who speaks Spanish and help her to learn English. I’m told she understands English, but has a hard time speaking it. Does anyone have any ideas on projects I can do or games that will be fun and beneficial?

i want a personal opinion , some one who is a teacher, tell me how rewarding it is, or what the most rewarding thing that you have experienced about teaching elementary or specifically kindergarten????? i am half way done with my degree for elementary education but am getting kinda nervous wondering if i choose the right career, so please help me out. and what is the hardest thing about teaching?

I’m in sixth grade and I am home schooled.

I am a first grade teacher and I love it. I am in my first year as a teacher and think I made a great choice by going early elementary education.
I have been asked if I would consider teaching kindergarten next year. I have been told that I work extremely well with a few children that skipped kindergarten or were homeschooled. I was wondering what are the differences between teaching kindergarten and first grade?

I want to do a fun activity with my elementary students centered around supporting our troops. The students will be composing letters, poems, or drawings (depending on age level) to be sent to military personnel serving overseas. I need an “ice breaker”; something to get them thinking in the right direction so they will be more productive and also be thinking in the right mindset. I am planning to do this next week so that the letters can arrive to the military by Armed Forces Day.

Well i really wanna do something with working with kids so i came down to those two options. Please help me i really need help!

My daughter knows her abc and the sounds that letters make,but she gets confused with c,k,Q. When it comes to spelling some adults have problems with those sounds. Any suggestions

She is only Two and a half, but i want to know what are something i could start to teach her now. Thanks for the answers.

I have been wondering about this and I keep trying to find it on the internet but no one will tell me. I know I need at least a bachelor’s degree and possibly a master’s degree. I know my major should be early childhood education, but I don’t know the exact classes I would have to take. What are the math classes, english classes, science classes, etc…? Please Help!
