I work at a preschool and am trying to think of good costume ideas…I want something fun but still pretty movable. I was kind of thinking about a lady bug or bee. Any help would be good!

Be mickey mouse
Animal costumes tend to be best for working with little ones – they aren’t as frightening. I knew one girl who worked at a daycare in high school who dressed as a witch – not even a scary witch! – and the kids freaked out. A ladybug or a bee would be really cute – just don’t go for one of the super-sexy costumes, that wouldn’t be good! LOL
A cat would be good – you can get those headbands with attached cat ears at Wal-Mart, Target, or even the dollar store really cheap. Then all you have to do is wear black pants and a black shirt or sweater. You could also tie one of those fuzzy scarves around your waist to make a tail. To finish it, you could use black eyeliner to draw on whiskers, and pink lipliner for a nose.
A mouse would be easy too – again, find the headbands with ears. Usually you’ll find grey mouse ears, so you could do like with the cat – grey pants and sweater, and maybe a braid of pink yarn around your waist for a tail.
Good luck, and happy haunting!
I think your students would like it if you got one of those huge M&M costumes. Or you could be a storybook character, because all your students would know what you were.
Yes, Ladybug or bee would be a great idea!
